ABOUT ZAC
Zac Watson is a Melbourne-based musician, songwriter, and educator known for his tone-first, song-serving approach across a wide range of musical settings. A genre-fluid player with an instinct for feel and space, Zac has become a trusted sideman and collaborator, working with acclaimed Australian artists including Andrew Swift, Jen Mize & The Rough N’ Tumble, Taylor Moss, and country icon Bill Chambers.
He’s performed at major festivals like Tamworth, Port Fairy, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Groundwater, and Gympie Muster, and his work in the studio spans dozens of projects—often tracked remotely from his private home studio. His solo instrumental music has been featured on ABC Grass Roots and Saturday Night Country.
As an educator, Zac works with a small group of students focused on tone, time, and musicality. His teaching blends practical skill-building with real-world context, helping players connect what they hear with what they play.
